Visit from Nett Lake Elementary students!!!

Today we had a visit from the students of Nett Lake Elementary School. The came all the way from Bois Forte to participate in a fun-filled day of hardcore science and learning. I was happy to have an awesome groups of 3rd and 4th graders do some chemistry experiments with me at the medical school.
Can you guess why we call this "elephant toothpaste"?
Today's experiment was a demonstration of an exothermic reaction.

Laying down the ground rules to the room full of future-scientists.
"Dr. Glenn" walking the class through the chemical reaction before we get our hands dirty.

The students were really focused so I kept on showing them different ways to of looking at how the chemicals react to make our "elephant toothpaste".
