Simmons Lab featured in the news for Health Disparities work.

A very nice article was written about the health disparities work that the Simmons Lab has been doing in the community in Duluth, MN. It is nice to have people recognize the effort and help to broadcast your mission beyond the walls of academia.

The project described in the article is a collaborative project with a colleague, Dr. Olihe Okoro, in the College of Pharmacy. The project is an effort to improve health outcomes and health access to African American men by increasing knowledge of men and women on health issues that are specific to the African American man. It is a dynamic approach that emphasizes the family and community connections to create lasting positive changes in the health and wellness of community stakeholder.

Thank you to the Duluth News Tribune for reaching out for the interview. Here is the link to the original article: Duluth News Tribune article on the Simmons Lab community-based research
